Austin lost his first tooth

Some of you may have read this on Facebook. I have been trying to keep the kids off Facebook in hopes it would encourage me to blog more often. It really isn't that hard to do after all.
So Austin has had this loose tooth for about a month (that I knew of). One morning at breakfast he complained that he couldn't eat because his tooth would fall out. I was surprised when he showed me his tooth. Valerie lost her 1st tooth when she was 3 so I was not sure when it would happen with Austin.
Anyway, the night it came out he showed me a very lose tooth, I tired to convince him I should pull it out, he refused. Rob was concerned he would lose it in school the next day. That is exactly what Austin wanted. If you lose your tooth in school they give you a special treasure box to bring it home in.
How it happened...at 4am Rob heard crying from Austin's room, he asked me to go check on him ( thinking he had an accident). I found Austin sitting up in his bed crying uncontrollable and barely understandable. When I got him to calm down, he said after he went to bed his tooth fell out, he put it under his pillow. He had just woken up (4am) to go to the bathroom, when he checked to see if the tooth fairy had come...the was no money and no tooth! He thought he got robbed! He had thrown everything off his bed in a panic looking for it, so it could have been anywhere. It took all I had not to burst out laughing. We did a quick search and I convinced him it was to late for the tooth fairy, and she would come tomorrow. I promised him I would spend my day looking for it. So the next day I did exactly that. It took me several hours to find it. I was about to give up and go get one of Valerie's and tell him it was his. I was bummed because I keep them all and I wanted to have his first tooth! But I found it as I was climbing down the ladder. He refused to put it under the pillow this time. So we wrote a note and stuck the note on the window telling the tooth fairy to look for the tooth on the dresser. I'm in the process of making a pillow to hang from the bed for the next tooth.
So that night I thought I was prepared for the tooth fairy. As I was putting him to bed, I asked what the going rate was for a tooth...$20.00 was his reply! Immediately I flipped...noway, who told you that? He replied he asked his classmates, I demanded names:). I posted on Facebook hoping one of the moms would respond, but non did. I was prepared for $5.00 for the first tooth not $20.00! I didn't want him to be disappointed so I sent Rob to the bank. He had a function at school the next day so I asked one of the moms and she said noway...but too late the tooth fairy had come and gone. We got doped! The tooth fairy left a note with the money letting Austin know this was not the normal and the amount would be less for the next tooth...he was very happy the next morning.

Savannah's Dance Party

Yesterday was Savannah's Dance party..."Jesus is Born"
Savannah started off feeling under the weather on Friday and by Monday she still wasn't feeling well. She was showing signs of feeling better and she didn't want to miss her party (more like mommy didn't want to miss it). They keep the door shut and blinds closed so I don't get to see anything.

She did pretty well considering how she felt. I only have a few pictures that came out since I was using my phone. Anything with motion ( pretty much the entire thing) was blurry.

TEST

TEST

Pre-School

Savannah is working on her 2nd week of preschool.  She attends Tuesday and Thursday.  She seems to love it.  She makes sure when we arrive in the morning to tell me "I stay by myself, you go home".

The first week was rough on me a little, but I was still so busy with the finishing the floors I didn't have time to think.  This week however, the floors are 99.9% done, the house is getting back to order.  On Tuesday I was able to volunteer at Austin's school and stay to have lunch with  him.  Thursday I got to run all by myself and cleaned the entire house.  I'm nervouse for next week, I know I'll get use to it, just can't believe no more babies at home.

She doesn't talk to much about her day but I am hoping as the year goes on she will.  Ama and Pap were here to see her off on her first day.  Daddy went to work late so he could go with me to take her in.  When we were taking pictures in the front yard She was so excited.  She yelled to Amanda (who was on her way to school)  I'm going to school by myself.
 pretty excited
She insisted on wearing pants...crazy girl it was in the 90's
Her new back pack from Granny...anything besides princess would be crazy

pretty excited, daddy had to hold her hand though

Savannah's Princess for day...finally

So this past weekend was Disney trip for Savannah's birthday. She has been
Looking forward to this trip for a long time. We all were. She is very much into Sleeping Beauty even though she has never seen the movie.

I was determined to make her a dress, I wanted it to be special. It came out ok...she was happy.

We did Epcot when we arrives Friday night since it was late hours. Back to the room for some sleep. We had to be at the Bippity Bopity boutique by 825. EARLY! We made it with no time to spare. Austin Made out on the deal. They had a prince package that was very reasonable. So he got his hair done, a sword and shield then you add on all the "fairy God Mothers" in training making a fuss over him and his hair.
Next up was Savannah. We did the middle package which just means we supply the outfit. Total for them both after tax was only $78. Not bad for Disney.

The park closed early for a event so we made reservations to eat downtown. Savannah was so tired she fell asleep on the walk to "house of blues" and slept through dinner. It was ok kind of night until. The kids were told to grab their dads and Rob was now part o a boy band! That made it GREAT. I will post a video of it when I get on the computer.
The kids both a melt downs on Saturday but they pulled through after about 20 mins each.
Sunday's we usually head to Hollywood Studios for a few hours and then head home. We try to get there supper early for the fast past on the Toy Story ride. However plans just didn't work out. First the kids slept until 9! Then it rained right up until we were walking out I the park. Not too awful. No waits on anything except the star wars training then it was cancelled.
When all was said and done everyone had a great time.

We now have a 6 year old

Today my little man is 6! I can't believe it...
I can happily say Austin has moved past Mario!! He insist he still likes him just as much. It seems as though Skylanders is winning the battle though.

For 2 years he has been talking about a birthday at Ollie Koala's. It's pretty comparable to Chuk E Cheese. At the last minute he asked for an X box. Austin was given a choice of X box or Ollie Koala's. After much thought he chose the X Box but only if he could get Skylanders for that as well. So he had 3 friends up for cake and ice cream instead of a big party.
He seemed pretty happy that he had a Skylander kinda party.
For his birthday I made cup cakes with Skylander pictures on top that he took into school. For his cake at home I surprised him with a "portal of power" cake. And even better yet I surprised him with putting real Skylanders on top of the cake. These were the ones he has been saving his money for. If you look closely in the pictures when I brought the cake out his eyes became so big and a big smile when he realized they were "real". He chose not to have cake and ice cream or even open other presents. He wanted to get down and play his game.

You'll also see that we put trick candles on the cake. I was sure if it would upset him or give him a laugh. But thankfully he got a kick out of it.
Granny and Grampy got him 2 set of figures and some shirts. Papa and AMA got him his x box skylander game. We got him the x box. He got lots of cash this year from Nanny and Poppy, Weezy and His friends from down the street as well. This man loves cash! He is already talking about what skylander he can get next. His little buddy Josh was so sweet. He wrapped up one of his own Skylanders to give to Austin. He picked the one Austin had been wanting and saving for. I was glad we got it for him so Josh would take his back. Austin also got some pretty cute homemade cards.

He was sure to say thank you nice and big to the crossing guards this morning. It's something I have been working on with him for over a year. He said it was something a 6 year old should do today. Boy, I love that little man.
I think he had a great day!
He goes for his physical at the end of next month so well see how he is growing.
He still loves Bmx biking. Football is new this year, we will see how he likes it. Playing video games has become his favorite past time. Over the last three weeks his reading has become better, flowing pretty well and sounding the words out doesn't take so long.

First Grader

It's official Austin finished his first week in first grade. It went pretty well. At first he only had 1 kid in his class from last year but later found out one of his football buddies was in his class.

Last year the school asked parents to fill out a paper stating how your child learned. If he/she needed a well structured or more of a free environment. I was a little frustrated thinking they are the ones that know best. I'm sure he behaves differently at school than home. Anyway he got in trouble once last year. The trouble that he got into wasn't really anything much, he just decided he didn't want to sing a song. So I put free environment. I hope I didn't make the wrong choice. He got in trouble 2 times last week. Once for using outside voices inside and once for talking instead of listening. Each gave him a card. You have a chance for 3 cards once you get the 3rd card you have to right a letter home to your parent explaining why you got your card and what you can do better next time. I have already decided to share my thoughts this year and I will not fill out the paper, his current teacher will have a better idea than me!

We were not here for meet the teacher so I was able to walk him in the first day. If you look closely he is not as far behind in the height as he was last year. Yes still the smallest but the gap does not seem so big this year.

She's not a Baby anymore

She's not a baby anymore
My little Savannah turned 3! It's exciting and sad at the same time. This year we passed on a party because she has become obsessed with Princesses. We signed her up for Princess of the day at Disney in September. She is pretty excited although I don't think she knows what it means.
We had her 2 friends down for cake and ice cream. I bought a cake for the first time in 7 years:(. We just had too much going on for me to make it this year.
I made her a make up vanity and chair. Custom one of a kind Sleeping Beauty dress. A lot of love went into that think:). You can no longer by a pattern unless its second hand and the second had ones go for $30. So if you ever see one at a flee market or garage sale snatch that baby up! I also gave her a big girl room with new paint, new blanket, light and a big girl bed. Austin got her some make up for her vanity. Granny and Grampy got her set for Princess gear...a back pack, lunch box 2 outfits (that she wore for 3 days straight) princess doll and books. Her friends got her a sleeping beauty doll as well...she wanted to keep both. Savannah was pretty excited about Beam and Poppys present...they brought Val to the beach. Nanny and Poppy gave her cash that she says she wants to by a mini shirt. Pap and AMA got her a pretty new full face helmet so we don't have anymore "mouth" problems
She start pre school on the 4th of September. I'm nervous, happy and sad. She is signing her abc's pretty good at this point. Doing better with potty training, but still a work in progress. Mostly at bedtime and if she is not over tired she can wear big girl panties for nap. She loves to watch anything with princess, fairies or babies. Rides her bike every day with me for 3 miles, still loves her JoePa. She got her big girl bed the night before she turned 3. It was a hard night for me. She does well staying in it and I do have to make her get out when she gets up otherwise she will sit and cry until I go in her room.

A day with Savannah

Today was Savannah's follow up for her tooth. Still undecided what todo with her tooth. Some bad signs such as the tooth has started to turn gray, pain when she eats hot food and the front tooth is still loose while the others have firmed up. Good signs are the tooth has seemed to move up a little bit, no abscess. So we are waiting 4 more weeks to see what happens.
After the dentist we headed to the nail salon where Savannah got her nails and toes done. She wore her princes dress an crown. Then to the store for a little swedish fish. It was a great day! I will miss her when school starts
